Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

The LMA was establised in 1962 and the Lakemba Mosque was built in 1972. Since then, the LMA has grown as an organisation and now undertakes numerous services and projects throughout the muslim community and abroad. The LMA maintains a number of community mosques aswell and schools programs and funeral services, just to name a few. The LMA is also focused on the future needs of the muslim community and has plans to build and grow its infrastructure to cater for these needs.

The LMA also concentrates on the muslims outside its direct domain through multiple charity projects and schemes.

With all these services and activities, the LMA relies heavily on the muslim community to donate its time and effort. If however, people cannot donate there time and effort, for reasons beyond their control, the LMA is happy to accept their support through financial contributions.

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:

“When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity , knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.” [Related by Muslim, Tirmidhi, and others]

With your financial support, you will also be rewarded highly by Allah (swt) for your donations.
