The Arabic word Islam means voluntary submission to the will of God and obedience to His commands. Allah is an Arabic word, the proper name of God. Muslims prefer to use the word Allah rather than God. A person who freely and consciously accepts the Islamic way of life and sincerely practices it is called a Muslim.

The Noble Quran, the final testament which God the Almighty revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) as guidance for all mankind, speaks highly of not only Mary but also of her son, Jesus Christ. According to the Quran, Jesus (P.B.U.H) is a Prophet as are Noah, David, Abraham and Moses (Peace Be Upon Them All). The Holy Quran has hailed Mary as a model for the women of the entire world and mentions both Mary and Jesus Christ in several chapters of the Quran.

It is a common tool that has always been used by the enemies of Islam. They do not touch upon any aspect of our religion except that they arouse misconceptions regarding it, and this represents a round in the battle between the followers of the truth and the followers of falsehood.

These are some of the distinct features of Islam, which make it necessary for modern man to seek his salvation through this ideology:
First, it must be well understood that Islam is not a mere ideological vision. It is a practical system of life that fully appreciates all the genuine needs of humankind and tries to realize them.
Second, in trying to meet the genuine requirements of man, Islam effects perfect balance between all areas of life and activity. It starts with the individual maintaining a balance between the requirements of body and soul, reason and spirit and in no case allows one side to dominate the other.
